You will be required to attend a one day clinic on equine nutrition for natural hoof care practitioners. This clinic is designed to help practitioners advise clients in a correct and professional manner. Non-farrier students may take this clinic at any time during their training. Certified practitioners may use this as continuing professional development.
Through this clinic you will develop a basic understanding of;
• the evolutionary definition of the horse and its natural diet.
• the horse’s digestive tract, basic anatomy and physiology.
• the essential nutrients and feed for horses
• pasture management for appropriate nutrition.
• practical ration formulation for a variety of horses.
• feeding for feet - research to date.
