Mark Johnson Dip WCF, held an
advanced dissection clinic for farriers
and provided a research up-date to all UKNHCP members. His research into hoof anatomy is providing some interesting and crucial feed back for use in the field.
Clare Macleod Msc Rnutr an independent nutritionist and the author of “The Truth About Feeding Your Horse” gave a clinic titled ‘Equine Nutrition Clinic for Natural Hoofcare Practitioners’. The clinic gave students and practitioners information about equine nutrition to enable them to advise clients in a correct and professional manner
UKNHCP members discussed the organisation; what it had achieved over the last year; where it was moving to for the future. Over the next year the UKNHCP will be helping to develop with LANTRA (the government body responsible for training standards in the agricultural/equine/vet fields) national vocational standards for natural hoofcare.
This will lead over a period of time to a professional training standard for our practioners just as there is for farriers. Exciting times are ahead!
