You will be required to attend a three day course to further your skills and knowledge in the application of natural hoof care. This course must be taken after Step 6 although in exceptional cases certain students with extensive previous experience of natural hoof care may be allowed to progress to Step 8 without attendance of Step 7. Other students may have to attend a ‘Hoof Care Intensive Extra’ if they need further consolidation of skills and knowledge. You will be informed if you are required to attend this course on the completion of Step 7.

• using and handling a range of tools.
• critically reviewing trimming.
• more complex hoof terminology.
• assessing hooves according to strengths and weaknesses.
• relating and starting to apply a basic maintenance trim to more
