At this point in your training you should have gained enough knowledge and experience to begin to build a small clientele. You will be required to spend a four to six month period building a portfolio of barefoot case studies. This portfolio will require you to demonstrate a growing understanding of natural hoof care and its application in your everyday work. The portfolio will be used as part of your final assessment in Step 11 and should continue to be added to up to your final assessment. This part of your training will allow you to be supervised by our instructors in a variety of ways whilst developing your professional independence and judgment.
The portfolio will help you;
• show how you have applied natural trimming methods to the horses in your care.
• show how you have used holistic and analytical methods to develop hooves over time.
• show how you have transitioned a selection of horses hooves for successful barefoot performance.
• show how you have incorporated a range of theories and methodologies into your thinking.
